The Jewish National and University Library now Associate Partners in DPE
DPE are delighted to announce that the Jewish National and University Library have now joined DPE as Associate Partners. The Jewish National and University Library serve a threefold purpose: it is the National Library of the State of Israel, the National Library of the Jewish People, and the Central Library of the Hebrew University. Report from the Third Annual WePreserve Conference
A report from the Third Annual WePreserve Conference held in Nice, France on October 28-30, 2008 is now available in the current issue of the International Journal of Digital Curation. The Theme for 2008 was 'a new generation of tools and services' and was designed to showcase the tools and services available now for use in tackling the digital preservation challenge. Briefing paper: Security aspects in electronic personal health record: data access and preservation
The world of applied medical informatics is changing rapidly due to an increasing use of the results of Information Systems reports, data trending and images. Recent advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) give access to patients with chronic conditions at home through particular e-Health services such as Telemedicine. The development of online services such as "teleconsultation, e-prescription, e-referral, telemonitoring and telecare" has created new, remote health care functions that potentially threaten privacy. Indeed, confidentiality concerns remain a sensitive point of discussion in the digital age. This article describes which measures can be implemented to strengthen personal data security.
